WHAT WE’RE ABOUT - Grades 6-8
Our Student Ministries are a critical part of the life of Smokey Point Community Church. We place a high priority on our student ministries not only because our students are the future leaders for the body of Christ in the coming decades, but also because their impact right now on the Kingdom of God can be awesome!
Students are at a critical place in life. Opportunities are many and choices have far-reaching consequences. Our desire is to meet each student at their point of need and encourage them toward dependence upon Jesus Christ to meet that need.
We believe that students are capable of big things. We will provide ministry training for them and help them catch the vision for all that God can do through them to impact the world. Our strategy to accomplish this is through prayer, relationships and some serious fun. Our programs are designed to provide an environment for discipleship to take place.
Weekend Youth Services are the foundation of our Middle School ministry. Youth services are for believers to connect with each other through worship, quality small group Bible teaching and prayer. It is held during our 10:45 AM service on Sunday mornings in room B201. Our hope is that students will also be a part of main church services at 6:00 PM Saturday evening or 9:00 AM Sunday morning.
Balance is our Middle School discipleship training program which meets October through May. It is designed for believers who are willing to be challenged to put their faith into action. Here, students will be asked to study one portion of what it means to become like Jesus on their own during the week and come ready to discuss it. They are also held accountable to incorporate what they learn into their lives. Balance requires a commitment to faithfulness and provides an opportunity to be trained for ministry.
Balance meets after school one day each week (varies depending on the school). To get started, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The R.A.G.E. meets Wednesdays at 7:00 - 8:15 PM in The Youth Room - B201. This program is open to all students regardless of their spiritual walk. We have a fun time playing games, eating and sometimes wearing refreshments with maybe a video of recent events or a skit. We also spend some time in God's Word on current issues relevant to all students.
Events of all kinds are held throughout the year. These include retreats, ski trips, outreach road trips, camps, service trips, and more.
